Join Elaine as she guides you through a host of mixed media techniques to explore how a sketchbook can become an illustrated diary, a visual record of a journey or as a starting point for more developed work. You will develop studies that with guidance and encouragement will evolve into unique ideas that can be extended and explored.

Join Elaine as she guides you through a host of mixed media techniques to explore how a sketchbook can become an illustrated diary, a visual record of a journey or as a starting point for more developed work. You will develop studies that with guidance and encouragement will evolve into unique ideas that can be extended and explored.
Develop ways to understand how to push and explore your own concepts using colour, composition and thematic approaches. Find new ways to use a range of mixed media that will open up endless possibilities. Create within a supportive environment with like minded folk, sharing and discussing ideas that will allow you to find your own artistic style and freedom.
From initial inspiration to overcoming the fear of a blank page, Elaine will explore every stage of the creative process. Working in a sketchbook will help you focus, develop your ability to absorb what you see and learn the skill of editing and developing ideas. Sketchbooks are tactile, precious and personal. Share Elaine’s passion for the joys of sketchbooking and find your own creative way.
This workshop is delivered in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere to grow skills, confidence and creative style. Suitable for everyone who loves to be creative.
The workshop will be held at Golden Bay community centre Takaka.

This workshop will enable you to extend develop and nurture ideas within your art practice. . To let go of creative expectations and allow yourself to find joy in the art of expressing yourself. Finding a focus that will sustain yet also allow you to remain open and experimental.
